Giorgio Micco (b. 1989) lives and works in Alba, Italy.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, before completing his postgraduate education at the Albertina Academy in Turin.
His practice engages with some of the most relevant and urgent critical issues surrounding the pictorial medium, particularly in relation to ecological and technological concerns in contemporary discourse. In addition to painting, he works with drawing, monotypes, digital printing, publications, lightboxes and installations — media that interact with and help redefine the gallery space.
He has exhibited in numerous shows and has taken part in initiatives and residency programs at art institutions in Italy and abroad, including in the Netherlands, the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Spain.
